After losing both of his legs in a terrible accident in 2007, Aaron Holm and his family knew that life would change and the word “normal” would be redefined. BLOOMINGTON, Minn.–After losing both of his legs in a terrible accident in 2007, Aaron Holm and his family knew that life would change and the word “normal” would be redefined. Little did he know that his new normal would mean getting the opportunity to provide hope, encouragement and resources to others that have experienced limb loss.

Aaron is the founder and president of Wiggle Your Toes, a non profit organization dedicated to helping those that have lost limbs to heal, recover and flourish. Wiggle Your Toes helps those who have suffered limb loss to take the next steps towards recovery. Wiggle’s client advocates meet with new amputees and help to meet their needs as they begin to adjust to their new normal. Clients may need help navigating insurance, remodeling parts of their home, going through the process of getting a prosthetic, learning how to once again accomplish daily tasks, etc. No matter what the need, Wiggle is there to help and provide a unique level of understanding and hope, because Wiggle’s client advocates have all experienced limb loss themselves.

Aaron knows that being able to understand exactly what someone that has suffered the loss of a limb(s) is going thorough can make all the difference in their recovery. “We can walk into a room and it clicks,” he said after describing a meeting with a new amputee.

Wiggle your toes volunteer Kate Ross describes her first meeting with a Wiggle Your Toes Client Advocate after her accident and the amputation of her right leg.

“To see him walking into the room like that was the moment I genuinely knew that everything would be ok”

Aaron and the Wiggle Your Toes team are dedicated to supporting those that have experienced limb loss by giving them strength, hope and encouragement for the future. They understand first hand that life will never be exactly how it was, but they also know that this kind of tragedy can lead you down a path that is more fulfilling than anything you could have imagined before.
