On February 28, 2009, Bill was in a snowmobile accident that caused extensive injuries to his lower legs, head lacerations, a fractured orbital bone, fractured ribs and back, and a partially deflated lung. Doctors had to amputate both legs, one above the knee and one below. Bill is now walking on prosthetics, running his business—Bill’s Ace Hardware—and enjoying life.
